This week’s Horizon Foundation Sounds of the City @ Home features Black Girls Rock! founder, DJ Beverly Bond! Joining her will be Grammy Award-winning singer Estelle!
Model, producer and entrepreneur Beverly Bond is best known as the founder of Black Girls Rock!, an organization that shines a spotlight on the successes of African American women. The Black Girls Rock! Awards have been filmed at NJPAC for years, and now the Arts Center is thrilled to welcome Beverly back in a whole new role. As a DJ in high demand since the 1990s, Beverly has spun at parties for celebrities including Prince, Jay-Z, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Kimora Lee Simmons and Alicia Keys. She’ll pull together a set of classic hip hop and R&B for her appearance at Sounds of the City.
