Todos en NJPAC nos solidarizamos con aquellos que luchan contra el racismo estructural, la desigualdad social y la brutalidad policial y en pos de los derechos civiles, el multiculturalismo y la auténtica inclusión. Cambiar al mundo requiere del esfuerzo de todos. Ahora, más que nunca, cada uno de nosotros tenemos un papel que desempeñar.

Para unir a nuestra comunidad y para alentar a todos a participar en el movimiento para garantizar los derechos civiles de todos, NJPAC lanzó una serie de eventos e iniciativas enfocadas en promover la igualdad racial. PSEG Social Impact Film: Immigration – Love Me and Finding Home

Descripción: Social justice issues in the Ironbound focused on the Portuguese, Cuban and Mexican communities.

Descripción: The conversation will focus on mental and physical health and is tied to Movember, a movement supported by NJPAC that advocates for men’s health and early detection of diseases such as testicular and prostate cancer. Panelists may include psychologists, community activists and representatives from local hospitals, and the discussion will highlight programs that support men’s health. Resource tables will include screenings, such as blood pressure and cholesterol, and resources on how to get in shape.

PSEG Social Impact Film: Change, Not Charity: The Americans with Disabilities Act 

Descripción: The panel, co-curated by Eyes Like Mine, will explore the passage of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its impact more than 30 years later. The event will include an ASL interpreter from a woman-owned business that hires BIPOC interpreters.

PSEG Social Impact Film: City Rising 

Descripción: This is a continuation of the virtual event which took place in February 2025 and attracted over 300 attendees. The conversation will focus on the impact of gentrification on the costs of housing. ACLU of New Jersey and the Newark Office of Film and Television are potential partners.

PSEG Social Impact Film: Basic Black, African-American Fraternities and Sororities – The Divine Nine 

Descripción: The program will discuss the significance of the Divine Nine — the nine African American fraternities and sororities that are part of the National Pan-Hellenic Council — and their powerful legacy of leadership development, scholarship and social action. Co-curated by local Pan-Hellenic Chapter.

PSEG Social Impact Film: Set Her Free: Exposing the Trauma to Prison Pipeline

Performance: Ritual4Return, a programming partner of NJPAC’s Arts & Well-Being (AWB) department.

Descripción: This program will be produced in association with Women@NJPAC in honor of Women’s History Month. The content will discuss ways to help victims of trauma and women who are unfairly incarcerated. AWB plans to host a dinner for Rutgers University–Newark students before the event.

Descripción: In partnership with the Caregivers Employee Resource Group at NJPAC, this program will discuss the burden, joy and struggles of caring for parents or other loved ones. Financial issues and healthcare are included among the burdens of caregiving.

PSEG Social Impact Film: Patsy Mink: Ahead of the Majority 

Descripción: The program focuses on obstacles to advancement for Asian Americans and strategies for breaking the bamboo ceiling. The evening might include an ERG and social impact leadership pre-reception in partnership with Wells Fargo. Also, ASCEND, the largest Asian American networking organization, will lend support as they have in previous SIS seasons.
