Instructor
Katie Traxler enseña música PK-5 en PS 51 Elias Howe, una escuela primaria pública en la ciudad de Nueva York. Además de impartir clases de música en general, dirige un coro, dos conjuntos de flautas dulces, un conjunto orff y clases de piano, guitarra, ukelele y música y movimiento después de la escuela. Comprometido con la colaboración y la integración de las artes, Traxler trabaja en estrecha colaboración con los maestros de arte visual, danza y aula para mantener un currículo rico que integra música, movimiento, teatro y arte visual dentro de los contenidos de estudios sociales, matemáticas y ELA en todos los niveles de grado.
Traxler trabaja como clínico para varias organizaciones en la ciudad de Nueva York, incluida la Orquesta Juvenil de St. Luke's y el Instituto Weill en Carnegie Hall, y ha presentado talleres de educación musical para los capítulos Orff, distritos escolares y universidades de los Estados Unidos. Se desempeñó en la NBT de la AOSA (Asociación Americana de Orff Schulwerk) como Representante de la Región V, es ex presidenta de NYCCAOSA y enseña Pedagogía Básica para el Programa de Certificación Orff de NYC y el curso de Verano Orff de NJPAC.
