After dancing with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for 15 years – including at the White House, at a 2010 tribute to the company’s artistic director, Judith Jamison – Amos Machanic Jr. became a teaching artist with the Ailey Arts in Education and Community Program.
Now you can study with this master of modern dance, from home! Drop in to this installment of NJPAC’s Wellness Wednesdays for a class with Amos Machanic, who’ll teach a modern dance workshop based on the Horton technique, pioneered by another great dancer and teacher, Lester Horton. This technique emphasizes flexibility, strength and coordination.
