His genius transformed American music and helped introduce the spirit of New Orleans to the world. Louis Armstrong at 125: A New Orleans Celebration is curated and led by the visionary trumpeter, composer and New Orleans native Nicholas Payton. He’ll be joined by fellow New Orleans luminaries Jon Batiste, Reginald Veal and Herlin Riley, alongside a seven-piece horn section. Revisit Armstrong classics and experience new works inspired by his enduring legacy.

Herlin Riley
Drummer Herlin Riley, born into a New Orleans family with a deep line of drummers, emerged in the late ’70s and early ‘80s to anchor the bands of pianist Ahmad Jamal and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis with his commanding, elegant rhythmic presence — a style rooted in the Crescent City’s rich musical soil. Now at the top of his game, he continues to innovate within the New Orleans drumming tradition.

With an illustrious career spanning over 40 years, Reginald Veal is has worked with numerous incredible artists, including Terence Blanchard, Donald Harrison, Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr. and Dianne Reeves.
