Traiga una silla de jardín o una manta… y póngase cómodo en el renovado jardín delantero de NJPAC con nuestra selección recomendada o con un libro de su elección. Lectura en la Plaza incluye tiempo de lectura silenciosa, presentaciones de poesía en vivo y una charla sobre libros facilitada por el socio productor Fuente de conocimiento, un centro comunitario afroestadounidense en el corazón de Newark. ¡Déjese inspirar por una buena historia!

Bring your children for a special Children’s Reading at the Plaza with local author Virtuous Cornwall. She will lead an interactive reading of one of her picture books followed by a hands-on activity to inspire young writers.
Adults can participate in silent reading and a book talk on this month’s selection: Kin by Tayari Jones. An Oprah’s Book Club Pick, the novel is about mothers and daughters, friendship and sisterhood, and the complexities of being a woman in the American South. In partnership with Dodge Poetry, the program will open with a performance by Mia X, the City of Newark’s inaugural Poet Laureate, and a guided breathing experience led by Breathe, then Read™. Attendees will be entered into a giveaway for free NJPAC tickets.
