Join author Timothy Crist, president of the Newark History Society, in a celebration of his new book, New Englanders in a New Land: Newark in the Proprietary Period, 1666 – 1702 (Rutgers University Press, 2026). Crist will discuss the founding of Newark, and the tensions between the New England Puritans and New Jersey’s proprietary government. A Q&A session and book signing to follow.
Books will be available for purchase. Wine and light refreshments will be served.
