Cocktails, anyone? Five-time GRAMMY® nominee and NJPAC favorite Michael Feinstein joins forces with vocalist Storm Large for an afternoon of song that’ll have you reaching for your martini glass.

Shaken & Stirred pays tribute to music spanning the Great American Songbook into the era of James Bond and Mad Men. You’ll hear songs by Al Green, Frank Sinatra, Bill Haley, Nat King Cole, James Taylor, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Donny Hathaway and many others. Accompanied by a five-piece band that promises not to use up all the olives, the charismatic duo will delight you with bubbly champagne anecdotes and vocals that go down oh-so-smooth.

For three decades now, Michael Feinstein has been a leading ambassador of the Great American Songbook, bringing the greatest American standards to a grateful world. From recordings that have earned him five GRAMMY Award nods to his Emmy-nominated specials on PBS, his acclaimed NPR series, and concerts spanning the globe, Feinstein’s combined work as performer, educator and archivist has helped define him as one of the most important popular musical forces of our time.

Musician, actor and author Storm Large of Pink Martini shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova and made her debut as a guest vocalist with the band Pink Martini in 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. She has sung with k.d. lang, Rufus Wainwright and George Clinton, among others.

“When Michael Feinstein takes the stage, you know you’ll hear a song in a whole new way.”
Carnegie Hall

“Mr. Feinstein displays an undiminished passion for the American songbook and the show-business tradition…Without [his] tireless efforts as a performer and historian, how vital would that tradition be today?”
The New York Times

The American Song series at NJPAC is presented, in part, through the generous support of the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation, the David S. Steiner and Sylvia Steiner Charitable Trust, and the Joan and Allen Bildner Family Fund.
